Medium Length Hair Updos That Wow

Mid-length hair is one of the most versatile hair lengths to have. It has the styling flexibility of long hair, but can be managed as well as shorter hair. You can leave it unrestrained, or do some updos for mid-length hair. Several different updos for mid-length hair are excellent for casual, semi-formal or gala events.

So, what are some different hair updos for medium length hair?

Messy Updo. This hairstyle is is a less-formal updo for medium length hair. It is also perfect for semi-formal events. It is an excellent option for women with fine to medium hair. To get this style, flip your hair upside down, and spray some hairspray on the underside. Turn upright and spritz it on the top. Scrunch and fluff the hair as you dry it. Temporarily clip the hair around your face to keep it from getting in your way. Starting with the back, curl one-inch sections away from your face. Take the front section out of the clips, and curl it as you did the rest. Finger tousle your hair and shake to allow the curls to look even messier. Gather your hair loosely at the base of your neck into a bun, and fasten with a bobby pin or two. Finish off with more hairspray.

Classic Updo. This is one of the great bridal updos for mid-length hair. It is simple to do, yet looks very chic. To achieve this style, apply an even layer of hairspray onto your hair. Lightly brush your hair back and gather into a ponytail. Use an elastic band that coordinates with your hair color. Give it a squirt of hairspray. Take the loose end and wrap it around the elastic to make a bun. Secure with bobby pins. Top it off with a generous amount of hairspray, and make sure to brush any loose hair for a very sleek and polished finish.

Braided Half-Updo. This is a darling updo for mid-length hair. It is kicky and youthful, and a good choice for prom or even just a girl’s night out. To achieve this style, begin by applying some mousse on to your wet hair. Scrunch your hair as you blow dry, to give it some waves. Divide your hair where you normally do, on the left, right or in the middle. Take one section on each side, and French-braid each section loosely toward the back of the head, securing ends with see-through elastic bands. Put in some bobby pins so that the braids don’t come loose. Finish off with hairspray.
