Some Simple Prom Updos You Can Do Yourself

Prom is a momentous and significant event in the life of a teen girl, so she'll want to to look absolutely gorgeous for this once-in-a-lifetime occasion. What are some hairstyles that will help her look her best? Prom updos can be very chic and classy. They give every girl that special air of sophistication. Here are some classic prom updos that are easy to do. Prom updo hairstyles nowadays that are especially popular are soft romantic looks and messy buns. They communicate relaxed and effortless.

Prom updos for long hair can be achieved by first curling your hair with a large-barrel curling iron. Gather all your curled hair back into a loose bun and hold them in place with bobby pins (or simply use a Whirl-a-Style). This prom updo is simple yet stylish and will give you that sophisticated look.

Another great style you can do is the messy ponytail. (This is a style you may want to try this one if you have strong hair.) This is one of the prom updos for medium hair that is all the rage; you see it on many celebrities. To do this, apply some texturizing cream on the hair. Allow to dry. Then gather your hair into a high ponytail. You can hide the elastic band by wrapping it with a strand of hair and securing with a bobby pin. Allow a few strands to frame your face for a softer look.

Braids are also a good prom look. You can part your hair in the middle. French braid a small portion of hair along one side of your face, secure with a bobby pin and repeat on the other side. Twist both braids along with the hair at back into a loose bun. With this hairstyle, you will definitely be a standout during prom night.

A low bun is another style that is very simple to do. Leave your bangs loose then gather your hair into a ponytail at the base of your neck. Twist hair into a bun and secure with a lot of bobby pins (or just use a Whirl-a-Style). Don’t worry about some strands sticking out. Complete the look with simple hair accessories like a jeweled headband or a little Baby's Breath.

These basic yet classy prom updos are very easy to do and manage but more importantly, they are all age-appropriate. The last thing you want is to look old and dated. You want to look young, fresh and vibrant so that you will have a prom night that you will always remember.
